Explosion-proof displays VEL-T, VELAN-T, VELAN-NT are LED devices for light and light and sound signaling excluding a probability of ignition of explosive gas mixture and dust from their side. They are installed in explosion hazardous areas of Classes 1 and 2 according to GOST IEC 60079-10:
- at fuel and chemical industry enterprises;
- in mines (explosion protection marking PB ExdI);
- on sea vessels and drilling platforms.
Design
The body is rectangular, corrosion-resistant, made of aluminum alloy (VEL-T, VELAN-T) or stainless steel (VELAN-NT). Light transmitting element is made of borosilicate glass (VEL-T) or polycarbonate (VELAN-T, VELAN-NT). Fastening is of suspended (VEL-T only), wall-mount or ceiling type. Transit cable routing is possible through a junction box VAD-RSP (VEL-T) or two cable glands (VELAN-T, VELAN-NT). Grounding bolts are installed.
The following is located inside the body:
- LED linears;
- start control gear;
- terminals;
- battery for autonomous operation for 1.5 h (optional);
- piezo buzzer (optional).
Advantages
Displays:
- are heated to a temperature of 85 ˚С max. (temperature class T6 as per GOST 31610.0-2014), and are applicable for IIC gases group, i. e. they are safe for using under possible leak of any explosive gases;
- remain functional at an ambient temperature within the range from -60 ˚C to +55 ˚C;
- are produced with either static inscription or scrolling text (with various options of displaying messages);
- prevent ingress of dust and moisture, including under effect of a strong water jet (ingress protection level IP66 according to GOST 14254-2015);
- are equipped with the LEDs resource up to 100,000 h;
- save electric energy compared to LON-based devices.
