History

VELAN — is a Russian enterprise which deals with manufacturing of explosion-proof electrical equipment. It was established in 1958. VELAN experience in explosion-proof electrical equipment manufacturing counts almost 60 years. During these years our company has been contributing significantly to the economy of the region and to Russian industry in whole.

In Zelenokumsk town of Stavropol region in "Stavelektroapparat" plant the construction of low voltage electrical equipment plant began based on stand-by plant of oil manufacturing.

1960

The first item was launched – KUV-2 push-button control station, intended for using in mines.

1967

The products range was widened with an innovative equipment for those times - small VKM-1switch made of plastic. With this switch manufacturing plants in Russia began to manufacture all-plastic explosion-proof electrical equipment. For the first time, the use of solid plastics equipment was introduced in domestic mines.

1991

"Elektroapparat" plant was transformed in JSC «VELAN» - «Low voltage explosion-proof electrical equipment».

2003

VELAN passed certification procedure for compliance with GOST RV 20.57.412 requirements and received an opinion certifying the existence of conditions for the State defence order. Also VELAN obtained a certificate for compliance with GOST R ISO 9001-2001 requirements.

2004

At the enterprise strategic partner company came. Creation of TD VELAN Ltd.

2006

The plant was certified to be compliant with international standards ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004, GOST, ISO 9001 requirements.

2008

During the period from 2008 to 2013, a fundamental modernization of production was carried out, resulting in a significant increase in its production capacity.

2016

The new Assembly workshop was inaugurated with a total area of 13 000 m2.
